Movies, shows, audiobooks, and ebooks, all starting here. Bookmark this page.
Watch
Movies and shows play in Plex, on your TV, phone, or a browser. Open it, find the shared server in the menu, and press play.
First time? Follow the four boarding steps.
A small find: there's a Star Wars playlist in Plex that plays the movies and shows in story order. Look under Playlists; it shows as a plain tile.
Read
If you've been given library access, enter your email and you'll get a one-time code from Cloudflare (check spam). Enter it and you're in, with no password. You'll be asked for a new code every so often. Read in the browser, download a book, or send it to your Kindle.
First time? See which login to use. No code? Your email may not be on the list yet. Ask whoever sent you this link.
Reading on a Kindle? Set it up once.
Listen
If you've been set up for audiobooks, they live in Audiobookshelf now, not Plex, and listening progress from Plex doesn't carry over. Sign in with the username and password you were given, then listen right in the browser.
First time? See which login to use. Not set up yet? Ask whoever sent you this link.
Listening on the go
On iPhone, if you already have Prologue, keep it and add audiobooks.shippyard.com as an Audiobookshelf server. Otherwise, get Absorb (free). On Android, use the free Audiobookshelf app. In any app, the server address is audiobooks.shippyard.com.
Request
Sign in with Plex, search for a movie or show, and request it. Each request is approved by hand, then it shows up in Plex on its own.
First time? It uses your Plex login, with no separate signup. Set up Plex first. Not out digitally yet? It waits in the harbor until release day.
Book requests
Coming soonSoon you'll be able to search for an ebook or audiobook and request it from its own page. It's on the next tide in.
Book requests
If you've been given access, ebooks and audiobooks each have their own request page. Both start with a code sent to your email, and audiobook requests then ask you to sign in with Plex. Every request is approved by hand; check its status on the same page. Ebooks show up in the library, audiobooks in Audiobookshelf.
Boarding
Four steps to come aboard.
About ten minutes, once. This gets you into Plex, where the movies and shows are. Tick each step off as you go.
-
Check your email for the Plex invite
It comes from Plex and invites you to a shared server. Not there? Check your spam folder too.
-
Create a free Plex account, or sign in
Use the same email the invite went to, then accept the invite.
-
Install the Plex app
It's on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, iPhone, Android, and smart TVs. Or skip the install and use app.plex.tv in a browser.
-
Find SS Family in the app
That's the server's name in Plex. Open the app's menu or server list and choose SS Family. You're aboard.
You're aboard. Welcome to the crew. Grab a seat by the window.
Movie and show requests use this same Plex login. Want audiobooks or ebooks too? Ask whoever sent you this link. Audiobooks come with their own username and password; the library and book requests start with a code sent to your email.
Kindle
Send books to your Kindle
Set it up once, then send books from the library straight to your Kindle. Tick each step off as you go.
-
Find your Kindle's email address
On a phone or computer, open Amazon's Manage Your Content and Devices page. Sign in with the Amazon account your Kindle uses.
Tap Preferences, then Personal Document Settings.
Under Send-to-Kindle E-Mail Settings, each Kindle and Kindle app has its own address ending in @kindle.com. Copy the one for the device you read on.
On most newer Kindles it's also under Settings, then Your Account, then Send-to-Kindle Email. It isn't on the device info screen, but the Amazon page always has it.
-
Approve the library's address
On the same Amazon page, scroll to Approved Personal Document E-mail List and tap Add a new approved e-mail address. Add this address:
Amazon quietly ignores books from addresses that aren't on this list.
-
Add your Kindle address to the library
Open the library, tap your account at the top right, then My account.
Under Profile, paste your Kindle's address into Send-to-eReader email, then tap Save profile.
-
Send a book
Open any book in the library and tap the Send to eReader button on its page. That button only appears after step 3.
It arrives on your Kindle within a few minutes once the Kindle is on Wi-Fi.
The first time, Amazon may email you asking to verify the request. Tap the button in that email.
You're all set. Send a book whenever you like.
Didn't work?
- No Send to eReader button on the book's page? Step 3 isn't saved yet.
- Sent, but nothing arrived? Check step 2: the address must be exactly [email protected]. Look for a verification email from Amazon, and make sure your Kindle is on Wi-Fi and synced.
- A few very large books are too big to email. Download those instead.
- Using Kobo, Apple Books, or another reading app? Download the EPUB and open it there.
- Still stuck? Ask whoever sent you this link.
Shipp's rules
Keeping a tidy ship.
Crew only
Please don't share your login. Every berth aboard is for someone invited.
Sunday morning upkeep
The harbor closes briefly just after midnight Saturday night. If it's down another time, try again in a bit.
Cargo takes time
Requests are approved by hand, so give them a day or so.
Watch what you request
Titles nobody's watching get cleared out to make room. A "Deleted in XX days" badge on a poster means it's about to sail off.

Something I wanted disappeared.
A page won't open while I'm traveling.
Which login do I use for what?
- Watch and Request: your Plex account.
- Listen: an Audiobookshelf username and password from whoever set you up.
- Read: your email. You'll get a one-time code; no password.
- Book requests: an email code too. Audiobook requests then ask you to sign in with Plex.
